They should be placed near a window and the substrate should remain slightly damp. If you have any doubts about watering, try sticking a wooden stick into the soil: if the soil is damp, wait a few days before watering again.
You should also fertilize with liquid fertilizer, 1 to 2 times a month, depending on the time of year.
